Wow! So many questions from all of you via email and Facebook. I thought I would do a little question and answer post and if you have any more questions, just leave them in the comments section and I'll do my best to get those answered for you as long as I don't have to plead for my fifth amendment rights to do it ;)
#1: Why do we still live in this RV park?
We live here still because there are certain things we must get in order first before we start house hunting: Bob is eligible to get his driver's license back, so the only vehicle we have right now that is capable of handling the requirements he needs (i.e.: breathalizer) is our new-to-us car. My old, crappy truck wouldn't handle it, so we need to save and get a more reliable vehicle for me and sell the ultra-crappy truck. We need to have a nest egg in place with a bit of savings. Our savings was completely wiped out with him being unemployed for over a year. I'm also staying here to prove a point that I will not be intimidated or bullied into doing something until I'm damn good and ready to do it! But, it sounds like work may get a little steadier, so I will start house hunting as soon as we have some savings in place.
#2: Have I ever screwed up a dish I was cooking?
Of course I have! Who hasn't?? I do it all the time, but the magic of photography lets me flip an uneven cake upside down and have it look rounded. See where I'm going with this? LOL! Mistakes are great because you can't ever learn everything there is to know in the kitchen. Each day, I learn something new.
#3: Is there anything that intimidates me cooking-wise?
Oh, YES! I've yet to attempt a cheesecake in the oven. I'm skeered...LOL!
#4: What is our favorite country, to date?
My favorite country has been, by far, Belgium. I find myself making some variation of that Belgian Endive Chicken recipe at least twice a month. Bob's is Korea. We are always on the look out for flanken short ribs that are on sale so we can make those things!
#5: How is Puppa doing after his seizure?
He seems to be doing ok. I have anti-anxiety meds for him, they aren't for seizures. We haven't had a repeat, so I'm super thankful for that. That first time was a doozy and I hope, for Pup's sake, it's the last one for him. I did take him to the vet and our doctor said he is an amazing, beautiful animal. His blood tests were all normal.
#6: How do I have time to run my private Facebook group, garden, blog and write my monthly newspaper column?
I think it's easy for me to do all these things because we are in 21 feet of space here in the trailer and when I sit at my table, all I have to do is stand up and I'm at the stove. Everything is accessible and easy to reach. LOL! But that's the truth of it.
#7: How is my back doing after I injured it?
It's there. It's sore. I'm on steroids to try to get the inflammation to go down and muscle relaxers. The bottom of my foot has a "pins & needles" feeling to it. But with this job Bob is on, he will have enough hours for our health insurance to kick in, so, pretty soon, I'll be seeing a doctor to see where we go from here with that pinched nerve of mine. I don't relish the thought of a back surgery and will do anything at all to avoid it, but if comes to pass, so be it...
I hope this posts answers some of those questions for you all and if you have any more, feel free to leave them in the comments section and I'll try to get those cleared up for you. It just blows my mind that you all are THAT interested in my uninteresting life to send those questions in like that. Thanks so much!
PEACE!
I actually thought just this morning, "I should email Laurrie and see how she is since I'm not on Facebook for those updates" And then I come here and see you beat me to the punch! I'm glad everything seems to be going well. Nice that Bob has a good job and will be getting his license back soon. How scary about Puppa's seizure. I am glad he's ok. I had to take my kitty, Honey, into the vet today. I was afraid her tail was broken but it turned out just to be an infection so that is definitely better. Well I hope things continue to go well and I look forward to your next post! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I'm sorry to replying so late, Kristen! I hope Honey is ok and everything gets back on track for you.
DeleteThank you Laurrie. Honey is doing great!
DeleteWe also live in travel trailer. Its 30' with one tip out. Life has been very different the last few years. We both lost our jobs in a western state and moved where the jobs were. We will retire when we reach 59 1/2, which isn't very long. At that time I am sure a 1000 sq ft space would seem like a mansion. hehe
ReplyDeleteSee my story @ www.wenchcrafters.blogspot.com. My first entry says it all. Also I have started a new blogspot for fun.
