Hawaiian Ham-Burgers in an RV

This was my kitchen this morning after Bob got EVERYTHING from the old trailer finally moved over. This is a lot of just shit that I accumulated while I've been cooking around the world. Most of it is put up at this time...I had to get this done in order to cook dinner tonight. Now I can just fine-tune things and get them where I want and all that jazz.
I'm sure every single burger joint worth it's salt has a variation of this burger...I'll simply call ours a Hawaiian Ham-Burger. This is what you need: a slice of Swiss cheese per every burger, a good thin slice of deli ham per burger, a slice of canned pineapple per burger, sliced onions, some lettuce (I used iceberg because I almost swallowed my teeth when I saw that leaf lettuce was just about $2 per head at the store...but, if it weren't the price of gold, I'd probably use a nice leaf of butter lettuce on each burger. I also used a whole grain mustard and some mayo as the glue. I built these on onion buns...one's that I bought at the store...you know, the 8 for $2 gig. You'll also need a teriyaki glaze to go on these. I don't have a favorite in particular...I just used a bottle that got lost in my cabinet in the small trailer and made it's way over here begging to be used up!
This is ground sirloin...a 90/10 mixture. I simply peppered them. That's it.
 The pineapple slices get grilled...
 The buns get grilled...
 It's an office party!!!!
 Glazed with teriyaki...
And this is the behemoth all put together...
 Dinner tonight.
And a mango margarita to wash it all down with.
Enjoy...PEACE!

  1. $2.00 a head for leaf lettuce?????? I bought some lettuce at Trader Joes a few days ago for .99 a head. What a deal.

I've never had a Hawaiian burger - once we purchase a new grill I'll have to give it a try.

    1. It was, and I'm not joking, $1.99 for red, green and romaine. Iceberg was 98 cents per head. Butter was $2.29. It was frigging ri-damn-diculous!

    2. The nearest Trader Joe's to me is in Vancouver, WA...I've never been to that one. I go to the one in Portland whenever I go there to Penzey's Spices.

  2. That burger sure does look good! I know what you mean about lettuce prices. I caved and bought spring mix. Usually I get mad and just don't buy something because of the price. Like I refused to pay 1.99 for 8 oz. of plain old mushrooms. So no mushrooms this week!
